“10 Things I hate About You”

By: Jesse Barshop

“10 Things I hate About You” Written by Karen McCullah and Kristen Smith. Directed by Gil Junger. One Romantic Comedy that most people have seen already. It is a great love story in which it was a modern twist on a Shakespeare play. We start off by seeing our main character, Cameron get a tour of a high school by his new friend, Michael. he sees all the different cliques and then spots Bianca Stratford, one of the main love interests in this movie. Cameron is immediately drawn to her and wants to start dating her but there is one problem, Joey. Joey is the most popular guy at their school and is a bully to the other students. He wants to date Bianca and to do that, Bianca’s older sister, Kat, has to date someone which is very against doing. Joey then pays the “bad boy”, Patrick, to date Kat in order for him to date Bianca.

This film has many different unexpected turns and character developments, and french speaking. This is a classic Rom-Com and is honestly, a great one to watch every few months. I think it has many great moments in it such as when we see Patrick doing things he would never normally do like embarrassing himself in front of many people multiple times. IMDb rates this film 7.3/10 but I rate it a 8.4/10.
